Fuppes is an UPnP/DLNA server for the N900.
You can now serve all media content from your N900 to a PS3, XBOX360 or any other DLNA/UPnP compliant device.
The really great feature about Fuppes is that it doesn't use tracker to index media. Fuppes is built with SQLite3 capabilities. It crawls and stores a separate database of media in ~/.fuppes/ and it's drop dead simple to update. Launch the server and press "u" to update it or "r" to destroy and rebuild. It'll take a few minutes to initially build, but after that - it's mere seconds to update and your media is instantly available.
It's configurable via the web interface, you can point and click your way through configuring the bind interface as well as the ever so important media trawling directories. You can also manually edit ~/.fuppes/fuppes.cfg to your liking.
The current version needs to be installed from the X-Terminal using dpkg -i fuppes*. After that, you'll also need to run apt-get -f install to get all the required dependencies. And there is no launcher icon, so you'll need to run it from the X-Terminal using /opt/bin/fuppes.
