GtkTide provides tide and current predictions in a wide variety of formats. Graphs, text listings and calendars can be generated.
The algorithm that XTide uses to predict tides is used by the National Ocean Service in the U.S. It is significantly more accurate than the simple tide clocks that can be bought in novelty stores. However, it takes more to predict tides accurately than just a spiffy algorithm -- data are required for every tidal prediction location.

Works if you first select a location, crashes otherwise.
Seems to have mostly US ports though, and no easy way to select other regions (huge, non-hierarchical list, search doesn't work properly). Haven't tried with GPS.
Looks promising but needs some polishing. [Rate: 6/10] |

I really want a tide tool, so I was happy to see this. But I can't get it to run. It installed, it shows me the menu, but when I select something (eg show near current location) it crashes. Selecting "View Today" doesn't crash, but it also doesn't show anything. I tried to use it without rebooting. Could that have been my problem? [No rate] |

Remember something like this on my N95-8GB. Very handy if you do sea fishing.
Would also like to see the ability to add tide data for a more localized setup. [Rate: 6/10] |
