@nemo: You can create a POI and then go the POI tools menu and use "set as position". @bot: Just use the download menu & enable the redownload option. Like this modRana will download even tiles it has during batch tile download. :) [No rate]

Does anyone know how to modify the starting point? It always starts in a city in Poland. I can't for the life of me find that setting. [Rate: 6/10]

This thing just works! You can set the redraw to a fast mode which makes redrawing almost instantaneous. Everything I've looked for in the "Points of Interest" in my area, from obscure pastry shops, to public libraries, to hospitals, to restaurants, it finds within a few seconds. Easy to navigate, and the icons are pretty obvious. Well done! [Rate: 10/10]

My favourite (and now only) gps application on my n900. The only extra thing i wish it would do is show a traffic density overlay (presumably from google), but that's all. Great program! [Rate: 9/10]

@offline routing/localisation: This is a planned/work in progress. :) @the Tiles are downloaded from the network, by default modRana uses OpenStreatMap tiles - but other providers are also supported. [No rate]

What a great concept! I have only tested modRana for a few hours, but I thoroughly enjoy using it. One question though, where does modRana get its map tiles from? [No rate]

I don't have data plan therefore i can use this because it is kinda useless without internet connectivity. I am keeping updated via maemo.org forum and as soon as you start supporting offline routing i would be the first one to use it. [Rate: 7/10]

The installation gave no problems on Meamo6 pr1.2 with automatic repository install. I get neither driving (or walking) instructions on screen when I choose a route, nor are there spoken instructions. At least one of these two seem essential for GPS routing software. I like the option to save your route. The interface is easy to use and the menu descriptions seem more logical than comparable software (ie Mappero). The icons appear a little "first try". Modrana could evolve into a valuable piece of software. [Rate: 5/10]
